It was confirmed through The Hollywood Reporter that 20th Century Fox had bought the rights to bring the game to film in early 2003. The Max Payne movie is to be directed by John Moore. Mark Wahlberg has been confirmed by Fox to play the role of Payne in the movie and production is scheduled to begin in 2008. The movie will be produced by Collision Entertainment and Firm Films.
I personally think I should have been casted for the role but oh well...

I agree I think he is a great actor so it will be interesting to see how he does and to see the whole bullet time action!

Yeah..the Max Payne games are so underrated, I had a blast when I had the first game they came out with. I think I quit when I couldn't get past this one part..
But I couldn't think of a better person to play Max Payne than Mark Wahlberg. Maybe Bruce Willis but that's pushin it.

Ah. The good old days. I remember a mission where two of the guards you have to kill were talking about bullet time and how it would work and how cool it would be.........
I bullet timed and shot them both with dual beretta's!!!!!!!!! Ah. The ownage....
