The Shivering Isles: A Guide

Do not confuse my guide with a walkthrough. I would create a walkthrough for S.I., but getting every location, every quest, every location for chests and treasure, etc for the entire Isles map is way too big of a job for a forum that has only 2 Oblivion players. However, I would be more than happy to do a walkthrough on the Shivering Isles if more people would read it and benefit from it.

Things I will include on my Shivering Isles guide:

Shivering Isles monster guide: I will break down every monster found in the Isles, along with their strengths, weaknesses, HP, levels they're found in, and the type of magicka they use, if any.

Shivering Isles ingredient guide: I will list every ingredient found in the Shivering Isles, whether it's from a plant or a creature, and I will list all four of the alchemical effects.

Shivering Isles weapon and armor list: The Isles are home to some pretty amazing weaponry and armor. Here I will list all the new weaponry and armor you will find in the Isles, and where it can be found.

I'm Playign Shivering Isle's ATM, I just keep gettign stuck in these damn dungeons where the door switches are in some random place...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've found that usually, the switch is no more than 2-3 rooms away, and sometimes its a simple puzzle you have to solve to open something.

Yeah, I need to explore some shivering isles dungeons...

There are plenty in the Shivering Isles main quest, no doubt about that. And I'm going thru the Isles with a Mage...hardly ever touches a sword.

Yeah, I need to train my magic more on my kajiit...

Kajiits are really intelligent. They'd be great for an alchemist or battlemage, as they're fairly strong too.

Yeah, and I need to make some custom armor to really increase my magic abilities.

Ok, I'm fairly sure that you've probably beat the Shivering Isles by now Scott.. lmao.. but seriously, I am going to do this guide. Life just keeps getting in the way lately .. GRRR...I've spent the past two weeks moving because my whore roommate is an incompetant tree stump who can't pay rent which means the gf and I have to move into a new place. We're almost done. And honestly, I've been spending all day everyday moving...it really really sucks. But I will eventually get around to this sweet Shivering Isles guide. I promise!!!

...oh, and back to the topic...

In Oblivion I made (before we started moving, mind you..) a kickass Kajiit and at Level 8 he's already at like, 75 Agility, 85 Alchemy and 52 Marksman... I'm going to make some custom armor that boosts my alchemy and marksman skills so I can create more poisons and pick off monsters and people from a distance. hoorah!!!

Update!!

Research for the Ingredients portion of The Shivering Isles guide has been completed!!

I'm going to make HTML pages full of Shivering Isles information. You'll be able to see the ingredient's picture, value, weight, harvest chance, and more. I will also do the same for the Bestiary...all creatures will have a picture, and details about their health, level, magic, attacks, etc.

Let me know if you have any suggestions to add to the Shivering Isles pages.

maybe a weapons and armor page? idk though... might give away spoilers... meh, I guess it's the reader's choice.

At the beginning of this thread I said I thought I might do the weapon and armor pages. I probably won't do it right away, I'll get the ingredient and creature guides out first.

The Ingredient Guide is shaping up well. It will be sweet, it will be like our own little wiki for Shivering Isles

Eventually, I'd like to make an Oblivion wiki, but that's pointless unless we have more Role Playing gamers and Elder Scrolls fans here.

But, you never know. I'm the type of guy to start a freakin wiki on a game the size of, oh, Oblivion just because "I can do it".

That's probably the best reason to do anything, isn't it?

I mean if I can do it and know it can be done, I am always tempted to try to do it, even if it IS a big job...don't know if that makes sense or not

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. The "because I can!" excuse is always great... of course, it should probably be morally correct first... otherwise, it's not exactly the best excuse...
